Títle: Analysis of contaminants of emerging concern in Ebro Delta

Ethel Eljarrat (IDAEA) is one of the scientists with more knowledge of the consequences that plastics could have come into the food chain. He recently made a study on the particles found in the fish of the Alboran Sea, Almeria.

For that reason they have interviewed him on the TV show El Intermedio on La Sexta TV.

 

In order to avoid the barriers of many types found by women and girls, which make their presence in science more difficult, talks were held on February 11 on scientific women in many schools in the territory. Gemma Fabriàs, Director of the IQAC-CSIC, participated together with other women scientists at the Escola Cal Maiol in the Sants neighborhood (Barcelona) to encourage scientific curiosity in girls.

These and other activities are within the events organized following the International Day of Dona Nena and science.

Last July, our colleague and friend Víctor Carrer lost his life a few hours before defending his doctoral thesis work.

As a tribute, their thesis directors will present his thesis in the Faculty of Pharmacy in a reduced format and the members of the thesis committee will comment his contributions in the scientific field. Later in the IQAC will be established the Annual Extraordinary Doctorate Award "Víctor Carrer"
