Title: Suspect screening of natural toxins in freshwater reservoirs 

WE OFFER: To work for a leading multidisciplinary environmental research institute with the primary objective of enhancing research potential and output by attracting external funding and promoting synergistic interaction between research groups.

JOB DESCRIPTION: The successful applicant will be responsible for the expansion of research activities within the institute by raising income received by the various IDAEA research groups.

On Monday, 18^th November 2019, the Institute for Advanced Chemistry of Catalonia (IQAC) from the Spanish National Research Council (CSIC) organizes a workshop on “Ethical Aspects of Research”.

Research ethics is based on universal principles that apply in all parts of the world. Although these principles are universal, the availability of the resources necessary to preserve these principles throughout the research process are not always universal or carried out equally.

We are glad to announce an extraordinary seminar that will be given by Dr Bai Long from Aalto University (Helsinki, Finland), which is an invited scientist by Dr. Jordi Esquena (Surface Chemistry group at IQAC).

Title: Cost-Effective and Functional Emulsions Stabilized with Renewable particles

El grupo de Ecología Química (RUBAM-Research Unit on BioActive Molecules) del Instituto de Química Avanzada de Cataluña (IQAC–CSIC), dirigido por la Dra. Carme Quero, ha realizado un llamamiento a través de las redes sociales solicitando la colaboración ciudadana para la obtención de individuos de una especie plaga invasora. Se trata del insecto Leptoglossus occidentalis Heidemann 1910 (Heteroptera: Coreidae) (Figura 1), comúnmente conocido como chinche americano del pino y originario del oeste de Norteamérica. Tras su detección en Italia en 1999, fue posteriormente hallado en Cataluña en 2003, y desde entonces su rango de distribución se ha expandido a lo largo de la Península Ibérica y Europa.
