The CID supports the "International Day of Women and Girls in Science"

Currently, women and girls encounter barriers of many types, sometimes very subtle, that make their presence in science difficult. This inequality is evident in the choice of studies by girls and it becomes more acute as they advance in scientific and technological careers. With the objective of achieving full and equal access and participation in science for women and girls, gender equality and the empowerment of women and girls, on December 15, 2015 the General Assembly of the United Nations proclaimed February 11 of each year as the International Day of Women and Girls in Science.

The Advisory Committee of the President of the CSIC "Women and Science" has proposed to all the Institutes, Centers and Units of the CSIC, as requested last year, to take a photograph with all the women of their respective centers, and that this be the welcome image on the website of each Institute during the days 8 to 15 February 2019, both inclusive.

The objective is to give visibility to our Organization in its support for the participation of women and girls in science.
