Open Peer Review Module: New Service for Researchers
The European project Open Peer Review Module (OPRM) is an instrument for enriching institutional repositories with value-added services to the scientific community through public and transparent peer review activities.
Characteristics:
- It is part of the international movement of open science
- Revisions are published in the repository and reveal the identity and affiliation of reviewers
- It allows the public evaluation of any type of work Digital.CSIC
- It contains a filter to identify fake reviews and SPAM
- Qualitative and quantitative reviews with scores and metric reputation
- An open dialogue between authors and reviewers, and among reviewers are encouraged
- Create an innovative reputations system for authors and reviewers
Digital objects housed in Digital.CSIC can be evaluated by an unlimited number of evaluators, allowing not only a qualitative assessment in text format, but also quantitative measures that will be used to build the reputation of the object. Importantly, this evaluation system is open and transparent. By open we mean that the full text of the review is available to users with original research work. By transparent we mean that the identity of the reviewers will be disclosed to the authors and the public.
