The CSIC, through the URICI, has signed a new Transformative Agreement ("Read and Publish" model), this time with the scientific society, The Geological Society of London. The latter publishes one of the largest online collections of earth science literature, the Lyell Collection, which includes Society journal titles, special publications, and book series, as well as journals published on behalf of other societies.

Throughout 2024, the CSIC and CRUE (Spanish Universities) have been working to renew the four national Publication and Reading agreements reached with ACS, Elsevier, Springer Nature and Wiley for the period 2021-2024. The renewal of these agreements for 2025 and consecutive years has followed different rhythms and results. The status, as of February 19, 2025, is as follows:

The Simurg portal incorporates three new titles of periodicals related to the history of science in Spain and the science developed within the Consejo Superior de Investigaciones Científicas (CSIC) since its foundation.

From 1 January 2025, CSIC staff will be able to enjoy two new ebook access services: the Digitalia Hispánica and an EBA (Evidence Based Acquisition) de JSTOR. The total number of ebooks that can be consulted thanks to both platforms amounts to more than 130,000.
