In May 2022 we announced the launch of the new mobile application of the CSIC Libraries and Archives Network. Almost two years later, the difficult decision has been taken to discontinue the maintenance of its mobile application due to several factors, including the expected lack of use by users and problems related to its operation.

After a thorough analysis and evaluation of the app's performance, it has been found that the number of downloads and user interaction with the platform have not met the expected expectations. This lack of active adoption by the community has led to a reconsideration of the usefulness and feasibility of keeping the application running.

In addition, a number of technical and usability issues have been identified that have affected the experience of users who have used the application. These problems include navigation difficulties, bugs and an unintuitive interface, which have contributed to a decrease in user interest and participation.

URICI deeply regrets any inconvenience this decision may cause users. However, we are committed to continue offering quality services through alternative means and platforms, such as the website, the catalogue and other available digital resources. We remain committed to improving services and exploring new ways to promote access to information.
