La Marató de TV3 selecciona un projecte del grup Nb4D en la seva convocatòria de projectes biomèdics en enfermetats infeccioses

The project of the Nanobiotechnology for Diagnosis (Nb4D) group belonging to the Institute of Advanced Chemistry (IQAC) of the CSIC has been selected among more than 200 candidates as a project of scientific excellence to be funded in the call for biomedical projects of the Fundació La Marató de TV3 and Catalunya Ràdio. The project, led in the Nb4D group by Dr M.Pilar Marco and Dr Lluïsa Vilaplana, will be carried out in collaboration with Dr M.Teresa Martín (Vall d'Hebrón Hospital) and aims to study the potential of various Quorum Sensing molecules as diagnostic tools for bacterial infections. The project also has the collaboration of Dr Miriam Royo, of the Multivalent Systems for Nanomedicine group, also belonging to the CSIC.

The 36 awarded projects are the ones that have been most valued by a panel of 103 experts in infectious diseases who evaluated the works according to their quality and methodology, scientific, health and social relevance, and innovative value, among others. In total, there were 214 candidates submitted to the call for aid. In the year 2023, the Foundation will present the results obtained in the research works in a scientific symposium.
